What is Gluely?

Gluely is an AI-powered iOS app that generates photorealistic photos and videos from your selfies. With 76+ AI styles, 28 AI characters, 25 VFX effects, and 15 prank templates, Gluely turns a single photo into content that looks like it was shot by a professional.

The name “Gluely” comes from what we do — we glue AI models and prompts together. Each style in the app is a pre-built combination of model configuration and prompt engineering. Users don't need to write prompts, choose models, or understand AI. They pick a style, upload a photo, and tap generate.

How It Works

Behind every style in Gluely is a carefully tuned AI pipeline. When you generate an image, the app routes your photo through specific AI models with optimized prompts — handling identity preservation, lighting, composition, and style transfer automatically.

AI Characters use structured JSON prompts that describe every detail — from clothing and hair to camera angle and background. VFX effects use image-to-video models to create animations. Pranks use inpainting to place you into realistic scenes. All of this happens in seconds, powered by state-of-the-art AI models.

Founder

Gluely is built by Michael Aubry, founder and the engineer behind the app. Michael previously shipped production AI/ML systems at basedlabs and has been building with diffusion models since the first public release of Stable Diffusion. He writes the underlying prompts, tunes the model routing, and reviews every new template before it reaches users.

Gluely's AI-character prompts, model-routing logic, and pricing tiers are all hand-tuned rather than off-the-shelf. If a result on the app looks a certain way, it's because a specific engineering decision — phone-camera grading over studio sheen, face-landmark preservation over full regeneration, structured JSON prompts over free-text — was made to get it there.

AI image and video generation is complex — dozens of models, each with different strengths, different prompting strategies, different input requirements. Our mission is to abstract all of that away.
